“This is a feature film we are committed to making in order to bring light to a serious disability and how football can prove to be a therapeutic outlet. Written by Paul Hodgson and based on his personal experience of having debilitating Meningitis of the spine since the age of 6 years old and based on his life and times of supporting Darlington FC. The film also highlights Alzheimer’s and focuses on what it’s like to not only live with a serious physical disability, but also to deal with the ramifications of living with a mother suffering from a rapidly deteriorating serious and debilitating mental condition. Paul lives life to the full and is one of the kindest, funniest and most inspiring people I have ever met. The fact is, Paul disproves many stereotypes about disability and what one man can achieve through his love for his local football team. Not only is he an inspirational character but is also one of the most hard-living, hard-loving and hard-drinking people I have ever met. Many so-called able-bodied people could learn a lot from Paul’s example and his zest for life.”
